Rocio Rodriguez-Inniss.
FOUNDER, WRITER, ARTIST
-
Rocio Rodriguez-Inniss is a writer, actor and artist from London. She is a storyteller of Spanish and Trinidadian heritage and passionate about the exploration of identity and belonging.
-
Rocio writes about the duality of things and of people because, for her, it's in this realm of possibility where magic is found. She explores the darkness in the stories she sees and hears around her and in her own story, always trying to find the magic in both the ordinary and the extraordinary. This duality, this sense of normalcy being able to change abruptly to fantasy, is where she sits. From here, she can see hope for the real world.

“This spellbinding debut by Rocio Rodriguez-Inniss showcases her artistry. These short stories are like tinctures. Antidotes, poisons or spells, I can’t say.” – Jacqueline Crooks

Fortune Baby as a concept has changed and grown with Rocio since 2016. In all its iterations it has always been ‘a production company’ but what exactly that meant, who’s work to produce and how has been the eternal question. This iteration is the one she is most excited about; creating a space to showcase the work of the people in her life she feels deserve greater recognition, providing a platform for their portfolios and hosting a community of artists to share and collaborate. Fortune Baby will continue to produce her own work, expanding to producing the work of the collective and one day very soon a Zine (the first step in Rocio’s big dream of Fortune Baby one day growing into a publishing house with wisteria growing round the front door).

Rocio is based in South London.
