Kathryn Lily Reed is a multifaceted composer and performer. Originally from a small rural town in West Cumbria Kathryn began her musical journey at eight years old learning the flute from her mother. Now an advanced flautist her background spans classical orchestras to jazz ensembles and Web’s experimental art rock to Òrain’s anti-folk.
Since moving to London in 2020 to study a Masters History of Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, Kathryn has been pushing the boundaries of traditional flute performance through her solo/band work and collaborations with musically diverse artists.
Alongside her cross-genre performances, Kathryn has an expansive technical expertise informed by her practice and courses such as ‘Modular Synths and Designing Sounds From Scratch’, ‘The Technology of Music Production at Berklee’, and ‘Art of the MOOC: Experiments with Sound’.

Kathryn’s composing credits include; co-writing experimental rock album with Web at Middle Farm Studios, flute soundscape for Portuguese magazine Zoot.
Kathryn is currently working on two short film soundtracks.
